Tradesman quote request form: collect the job details before you call
A structured quote request helps tradespeople distinguish serious jobs from vague enquiries and gives them the information needed to decide whether to quote remotely or arrange a site visit.
Quick answer
Collect the customer’s contact details, job address, trade or job type, scope, photos where useful, access constraints, preferred timing and any budget information your business actually uses.
Fields to include
- Customer name, phone and email
- Job address or postcode
- Type of work required
- Clear description of the job
- Approximate measurements or quantities where relevant
- Optional photos or plans
- Access, parking or site restrictions
- Preferred start date or urgency
- Budget range if it helps qualify the enquiry
Collect enough detail to decide the next step
The form does not need to produce a final price automatically. Its job is to help the tradesperson decide whether there is enough information to quote, whether more photos are needed or whether a site visit should be arranged.
This makes the enquiry useful even for jobs where pricing depends on hidden conditions or measurements that cannot be confirmed online.
Photos can remove unnecessary site visits
For repairs, decorating, landscaping and many installation jobs, a few relevant photos can answer basic questions about condition, access or scope before anyone drives to the property.
Keep uploads optional unless every job genuinely requires them. Explain what kind of photo is useful instead of asking customers to upload random files.
Use separate fields for urgency and location
Urgent work, jobs outside the service area and enquiries with difficult access often need different handling. Separate fields make those signals visible in the response inbox.
That is more reliable than expecting staff to find the information inside a long job description.
