Lead generation
Lead generation form: questions + free template
A lead generation form should collect enough information to decide the next sales step without making every prospect complete a full discovery questionnaire.
Quick answer
Start with contact details and the problem the prospect wants to solve. Add budget and timeline only when those answers genuinely change how your team qualifies or responds to the lead.
What should the form include?
- Name
- Work email or contact details
- Company where relevant
- What the prospect needs
- Approximate budget range where useful
- Expected timeline
- Optional source or referral question
Qualification versus conversion
More questions can improve qualification but reduce completion. High-value services can usually justify a few qualifying fields; lower-value or high-volume offers often perform better with a shorter form.
Use ranges instead of demanding exact numbers
Budget bands and timeline options are easier to answer than asking a prospect to invent an exact figure. They also make responses easier to sort and route.
